Mike Ward
Senior Vice Commander - Navy

Mike "Wardo” Ward retired from the US Navy in 2019 with 30 years of service.  A 1989 graduate from Auburn University, Wardo was commissioned in the Navy through the Aviation Officer Candidate Program in 1989.  His aviation assignments were as an A-6E Bombardier/Navigator and later an EA-6B Electronic Countermeasures Officer, with multiple squadron tours and combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.  He was the Commanding Officer of VAQ-133 in 2008/2009 and then Naval Base Guam in the Western Pacific from 2012 to 2014. Wardo’s final tour of duty was Chief of Staff at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
 
Wardo lives in Anacortes with his wife Karen.
